When creating multiple dashboards with similar requirements, we tend to “batch-create” and create them in parallel.

We’re strong advocates of the ‘modern data stack’. One of the core principles of the modern data stack is owning your data (i.e. your own data warehouse and the pipelines that feed in and out of it), and avoiding vendor lock-in. However, owning your data pipeline carries a small infrastructure cost.

You can read more about estimated costs here.

If you prefer, Host Digital can centralize (and pay for) all your infrastructure costs. It’s included in the above price. Then, when you or your brands are ready, we’ll help you to migrate to your own data stack (also included in the fee). We don’t believe in vendor lock-in and nor should you.

It’s Direct Debit. Payment is taken monthly. You receive an automatic email before each monthly payment, and you can cancel anytime by contacting us.

The first steps are usually:

  1. Ascertaining which brands you’d like to include
  2. Contacting the individual brands to communicate what’s happening
  3. Soliciting platform access from each brand

You may have heard that Google Analytics 3, or Universal Analytics, is being deprecated in 2023.

Google announced they’ll be sunsetting Universal Analytics (GA3) in July 2023. All standard Universal Analytics properties will stop processing new hits on July 1, 2023.

An important footnote is that Google says they will be deleting all prior Analytics data in GA3. What this does is place urgency on brands to migrate to GA4 (if they haven’t already). Consider these 2 scenarios:

Scenario #1: a brand implements GA4 in July 2022. When they’re forced into a switchover in July 2023, they’ll have a year’s worth of historic GA4 data.

Scenario #2: a brand takes no action until July 2023. They start with zero data in their GA4 account in July 2023 and will have no access to their old GA3 data.

All businesses currently using Google Analytics should be shooting for scenario #1.

We build your dashboards based on whichever GA property is your ‘source of truth’. If you’re using GA4, we’ll work with that. If you’re using GA3, we’ll use that – and when you switch to GA4 we’ll update your data models accordingly.
