Show them what you’ve got

Nobody wants to scroll through ten pages to find a product. Promoted filters can help.

Add them above the product listings on your collection pages:

Four promoted filter pills above a product listing: Bundles (8) tagged SAVE, Reading & Writing (4) tagged SKILL, Numbers & Maths (2) tagged SKILL, and Accessories (3) tagged MORE
Mobile

The same promoted filters on mobile under a FILTER BY label, wrapping onto two rows

Most users see them, and they can quickly filter the page to their needs.

They’re particularly helpful on mobile where traditional filters are hidden behind a tap/click.

They’re good for the layperson too, who may not know which product attributes matter.

Field notes:

  • Vary them depending on which collection page you’re on
  • Keep your traditional filters if you have them. Supplement, don’t replace.
  • Show the match count for each filter, so shoppers can decide before they click
  • Make them sticky

61% of sites don’t promote filters in the product list. Does yours?
